There are many benefits to eating food that’s grown locally – minimizing the impact to the environment, supporting your local economy, etc.  I love a morning spent downtown at the Farmer’s Market, especially when accompanied by brunch with a Bloody Mary at a nearby restaurant.

However, today, I’m especially thankful for a diverse readily available food supply, cause HELLO, PEACHES.
I found these beauties from California at Fareway last evening and boy, were they good for lunch.  They smell amazing, too.  Peaches don’t grow very well in Nebraska, so I’m grateful for the climate in California and trucks to get these tasty fuzzies to me in Omaha.
