Iowa State released an Animal Industry report earlier this year that focused on the microenviornment of transport trailers used for market hogs. It was previously a pretty unexplored area of research so it’s great to see new data on trailer bedding and washouts.
The study was just picked up by Farms.com which gives great exposure for the industry, and the coolest part is that Rebecca Kephart, Gro Master’s research assistant, was the main author on the project. “It was really exciting to research an aspect of the industry that had not previously been explored,” she told me.
